HigoZogan craftsman - INADA, Kentaro from Kumamoto

 

Mitsuhide became an independent craftsman after establishing a job of creating his artwork with 100% order made production. He said it was basically word of mouth advertising, and other than that, he also receives orders through SNS contacts. In addition to this order made production, he also runs the inlay Zogan class in his local Kumamoto city......

I thought that Mitsuhide’s encounter with martial arts through Karate in high school led him to Higo Zogan, but in fact it was the environment in which he grew up.

In Kumamoto city, there is a shop called “Yoneno Bijutsuten” that sells Japanese swords and their fittings. This Yoneno family was Mitsuhide’s relative and his uncle of the Yoneno family appenticed Taihei Yonemitsu who became a Living National Treasure of Higo Zogan.......

Mitsuhide was a child who liked to draw pictures since he could remember.  About three years old, he wrote graffiti on a white wall in his neighborhood with a permanent marker.  His father got very angry with him.  While his father apologized to the neighbor, he cleaned the graffiti with white paint and put it back.....

His artist name (pen name) is Mitsuhide(光秀); hereafter I introduce him as Mitsuhide.

He was born in 1976 in Kumamoto city. At the age of 19, he became an apprentice to Mr. Tomoaki Kawaguchi(河口知明), a master of Higo Zogan. After training for 7 years, he became.....
